Wall Mount Gas Fireplaces
CPSC #02-248, 09Sep02. Valor Heating is voluntarily recalling about 730 direct vent wall mount gas fireplaces. A design defect in the gas control assembly can allow main burner gas to prematurely enter the firebox during lighting. The ignition of this excess gas can cause the glass window to shatter, presenting the risk of burns or cuts from broken glass.

Fireplace Screens
CPSC #02-123, 20Mar02. Pascal Products is voluntarily recalling about 600 two-paneled fireplace screens. The paint on the metal mesh can ignite when exposed to a direct flame, posing a serious fire hazard to consumers.
