CPSC #03-167, 31Jul03. Ideal Industries is voluntarily recalling about 122,000 solenoid voltage testers. These testers can short out at high voltages. Consumers can suffer burns.

Drill Drivers
CPSC #03-164, 24Jul03. Black & Decker is voluntarily recalling about 265,000 18-volt cordless drill/drivers. The drill's switch can malfunction and overheat, posing the possibility of a fire hazard to consumers.

Trouble Lights & Work Lights
CPSC #03-145, 19Jun03. Homier Distributing is voluntarily recalling about 180,000 trouble lights and 54,000 fluorescent work lights. Trouble lights have undersized wiring, are not properly polarized, have inadequate grounding, faulty electrical connections, and plastic handles that once ignited continue to burn and spread flames, posing a shock, electrocution and fire hazard to consumers; work lights lack proper grounding, have exposed live wires, faulty electrical connections, and have sharp metal edges that can damage the insulation of electrical wires, posing a shock or electrocution hazard to consumers.

Power Tool Battery Packs
CPSC #03-113, 23Apr03. Panasonic is voluntarily recalling about 64,000 cordless power tool battery packs. Battery packs can detach from the power tool unexpectedly and strike the operator or bystander, resulting in injuries.

Circular Saws
CPSC #03-101, 27Mar03. Hitachi Koki is voluntarily recalling about 14,300 circular saws. The lower blade guards on these saws can stick in the open position, exposing the blade and posing a serious laceration hazard.

Electric Routers
CPSC #03-100, 27Mar03. OWT and Sears is voluntarily recalling about 5,200 electric routers used in woodworking. The on-off switch on the routers could stick in the "on" position, posing a risk of serious lacerations to the operator and bystanders.

Electric Sanders
CPSC #03-091, 06Mar03. Makita is voluntarily recalling about 350,000 electric orbit sanders. The pads on the sanders can break apart during use and strike the operator, posing an injury hazard to consumers.

Drill Battery Chargers
CPSC #03-082, 14Feb03. Bosch Tool is voluntarily recalling about 2 million Skil® Warrior drill battery chargers. The transformer inside the charger can overheat. If this occurs, the charger housing can melt and deform, possibly igniting flammable materials near or on the charger.

Circular Saws
CPSC #03-053, 19Dec02. Makita is recalling about 180,000 circular saws. The lower blade guard of the saw can become jammed, which can result in the consumer coming in contact with the blade and suffering a serious injury.

Electric Grinders
CPSC #03-048, 19Dec02. Milwaukee Electric Tool is voluntarily recalling about 24,000 electric grinders. The grinder's switch can stick in the "on" position, which could pose an injury hazard to consumers.

CPSC #02-249, 12Sep02. Northern Tool is voluntarily recalling about 3,400 electric air compressors. The capacitors on these compressors can overheat, catch fire and ignite the plastic cover above the capacitor.

CPSC #02-234, 20Aug02. Black & Decker is voluntarily recalling about 950,000 cordless drill/drivers. The drill's switch can malfunction and overheat, posing the possibility of a fire hazard to consumers.

CPSC #02-233, 20Aug02. Black & Decker is voluntarily recalling about 6,100 table saws. The motor housing on the saw may crack, posing a risk of electric shock to consumers.

Hammer Drills
CPSC #02-157, 09May02. Ryobi Technologies is voluntarily recalling about 6,000 RYOBI brand hammer drills. The on-off trigger can stick, or the lock-on button can jam, posing a risk of physical injury to consumers.

Circular Saws
CPSC #02-135, 4Apr02. DeWALT is voluntarily recalling about 55,000 heavy-duty, lightweight circular saws. The spindle on the saw may slip, causing the blade to contact the lower guard, posing a hazard to the consumer from an exposed blade.

Handheld Saws
CPSC #02-109, 26Feb02. Roto Zip Tool is voluntarily recalling about 1.9 million handheld saws. The handles on these saws can separate from the body, causing the operator to be cut.

Portable Air Compressors
CPSC #02-108, 26Feb02. Ingersoll-Rand is voluntarily recalling about 458,000 portable air compressors sold between 1983 and 1991. Internal corrosion to the inner wall of the air receiver tank can cause the air tank to unexpectedly rupture allowing pressurized air to suddenly and forcefully escape, posing risk of injury to consumers.

Portable Generators
CPSC #02-067, 14Dec01. DeVilbiss Air Power is voluntarily recalling about 600 Porter-Cable portable generators. A small hole in the generator's fuel tank, where it mounts to the frame, can leak fuel and pose a fire hazard to consumers.

CPSC #01-232, 13Sep01. Ryobi Technologies is recalling to repair about 125,000 circular saws. The lower blade guards on these saws can stick in the open position, posing a risk of serious injury to the operator and bystanders.

Electric Wrenches
CPSC #01-208, 27Jul01. Milwaukee Electric is voluntarily recalling about 6,000 electric wrenches. The wrenches have power cords that can release from the handle, posing an injury or electrocution hazard to consumers.

Hand Trucks
CPSC #01-203, 20Jul01. UnionTools is voluntarily recalling about 32,000 P-Handle hand trucks. The hand trucks are made of steel and painted red with two inflatable tires. If the tires of the hand trucks are substantially over-inflated beyond the recommended maximum 30psi, the rims of the tire can separate under the intense pressure and strike the user or bystanders. Sears stores exclusively sold these hand trucks from 2/01 thru 5/01.

Glue Guns
CPSC #01-153, 15May01. Sears is voluntarily recalling about 13,000 Craftsman glue guns. These glue guns can overheat, presenting fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Electric Drills
CPSC #01-150, 10May01. Milwaukee and DEWALT are recalling about 58,000 electric drills. The switches on these power tools, which were manufactured by Eaton, can stick. The drills can continue to operate after the trigger is released, posing a risk of injury to consumers.

Propane Torches
CPSC #01-139, 2May01. Harbor Freight Tools is voluntarily recalling about 500 propane torches. Sold nationwide from 5/00 thru 9/00. The hose that comes with the propane torch can crack or burst, presenting a fire and explosion hazard.

CPSC #01-073, 25Jan01. Dewalt® is voluntarily recalling about 112,000 12-inch miter saws, which make angled cuts. Bolts on the saws can loosen and the blade could detach, posing a risk of lacerations to consumers.

Inc. is recalling Makita-brand rotary hammers, drills and screwdrivers; and Milwaukee Electric Tool is recalling Milwaukee Electric Tool-brand band saws.

Battery Chargers
CPSC #01-010, 12Oct00. Approximately 825,000 DeWALT battery chargers have metal clips inside the chargers could come loose and stick through the chargers' vents, possibly resulting in consumers receiving an electrical shock. Sold nationwide between 9/99 and 10/00.

CPSC #00-128, 22Jun00. Approximately 22,000 Ace Hardware shingling hatchets have heads that can detach when in use, striking the user or a bystander and causing serious injury. Sold nationwide between 3/94 and 4/00.

Gasoline Tanks on Portable Generators - ALERT ONLY
CPSC #00-047, 30Dec99. CPSC and DeVilbiss are investigating whether the fuel tanks on certain generators can crack where the tanks mount on the frame, posing a fire hazard; about 295,000 units were sold from 2/96 until 6/99.
