Walk-Behind Lawnmowers
CPSC #04-013, 22Oct03. Husqvarna is voluntarily recalling approximately 9,900 Husqvarna Royal walk-behind lawnmowers. A loose blade bolt could cause the blade to come loose or the blade adapter to crack, resulting in the blade falling off. Should this condition occur, the operator or a bystander could be injured.

Walk-Behind Lawnmowers
CPSC #04-009, 15Oct03. Honda is voluntarily recalling approximately 30,000 Harmony walk-behind lawnmowers. If the lawnmower strikes an object with sufficient force, the crankshaft can bend. Vibration created by a bent crankshaft can eventually result in a fatigue failure of the Roto-stopTM blade brake control assembly. This can allow the cutting blade to continue rotating after the blade control lever is released, posing a risk of injury to consumers.

Gas Grill Regulators
CPSC #03-196, 25Sep03. Marshall Gas Controls is voluntarily recalling approximately 35,000 LP-Gas regulators on Char-Broil®, Kenmore®, and Thermos® brand LP-Gas Grills. Some of these regulators were assembled with an undersized seat disc that could become dislodged and leak propane gas. Propane gas is highly flammable and could ignite causing a fire or explosion.

Gas Grills

Gas Grills
CPSC #03-173, 21Aug03. CFM Keanall is voluntarily recalling approximately 1500 Great Outdoors "Horizon" Gas Grills. Certain wind conditions blowing at these grills can cause overheating or flashbacks under the control panel. Flames could damage the hose that supplies gas to the burner, causing an uncontrolled flame. Also, flames could come in contact with user's hands, resulting in burns.

Lawn Sprinklers
CPSC #03-159, 17Jul03. Midwest is voluntarily recalling approximately 4000 toad lawn ball sprinklers. A small hose inside the toad can fail, allowing water to fill the toad's cavity. The increased water pressure can cause the toad to explode, posing the risk of injury to anyone nearby.

Weed Cutting Attachment Blades
CPSC #03-135, 29May03. Conceptual Marketing & Development is voluntarily recalling approximately 1.1 million metal blades for their model 4650 weed cutting attachment. The blades can break off and hit consumers causing severe impact and laceration injuries.

Gas Grills
CPSC #03-006, 8Oct02. Value City/Schottenstein is recalling about 10,800 Red Devil gas grills sold at Value City and Schottenstein stores. The product's design allows consumers to light the grill at an air intake tube, instead of at the burner. Though the grill appears to function normally, gas inside the air intake tube ignites. The tube can reach temperatures of up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit and present a burn hazard to consumers. In grills manufactured before August 1998, the heat produced by lighting the grill at the air intake tube damaged the plastic support piece, and caused the grill to fall to the ground. When it collapses, flames from the grill can burn nearby consumers and ignite surrounding combustibles.

Riding Lawn Mowers
CPSC #02-220, 6Aug02. Excel Industries is voluntarily recalling about 1,500 Hustler "FasTrak" riding lawn mowers. Excessive heat, vibrations and wear causes the fuel line to droop over time and rub against the transmission fan, causing the fuel line to be cut. This poses a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers.

Lawn Mower Grass Bags
CPSC #02-219, 6Aug02. MTD Products is voluntarily recalling about 5,000 grass bag attachments for its 19-inch electric walk-behind lawn mowers. The lawn mowers have a rear-mounted grass bag that does not seal properly to the rear door of the mower, allowing grass and other debris to be thrown out at the top of the bag. This could result in injury to the operator or bystanders.

In addition, the fuel hose attachment sold with the Back HomeTM System can become damaged and leak propane, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.

Gas Grills
CPSC #02-159, 23May02. CPSC is warning consumers about 155,000 Red Devil gas grills manufactured by e4L and Quantum North America. The product's design allows consumers to light the grill at an air intake tube, instead of at the burner. Though the grill appears to function normally, gas inside the air intake tube ignites. The tube can reach temperatures of up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit and present a burn hazard to consumers. In some earlier grills, the heat produced by lighting the grill at the air intake tube damaged the plastic support piece, and caused the grill to fall to the ground. When it collapses, flames from the grill can burn nearby consumers and ignite surrounding combustibles.

Wheelbarrows
CPSC #02-140, 16Apr02. Ames True Temper is voluntarily recalling about 647,000 wheelbarrows. Cordless Electric Lawn Mowers
CPSC #02-088, 23Jan02. Black & Decker is voluntarily recalling to repair about 1,300 reconditioned cordless electric lawn mowers. The clips holding the control cable to the handle may be missing, which could cause the blade control device to fail and keep the mower blade running when it should stop. If the blade control device fails, consumers could suffer serious injuries.
